From Darkness To Light - Transforming Young Lives with Sahaja Yoga

It is beautifully said in the Holy Bible that God does not abandon those who have lost their way. In fact, there is special joy when someone who has wandered away finds the path back home.

Jesus explains this through the Parable of the Lost Sheep:

“There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”
Luke 15:7

And perhaps this is something we, as human beings, also need to understand. A person who has taken a wrong path does not necessarily need lifelong condemnation. Sometimes, what that person needs most is an opportunity to turn around, rediscover the goodness within, and begin again.

With this spirit, a team of Sahaja Yogis visited an Observation Home for juveniles in Noida, where we introduced the young residents to Sahaja Yoga meditation and gave them the experience of Self-Realization.

Our purpose was simple: to show them that their past need not become their permanent identity.

Through meditation and Sahaja Yoga practices, we sought to introduce them to ways of developing inner balance, self-awareness, a clearer and guilt-free mind, and greater control over destructive impulses—so that instead of returning to activities that harm themselves or others, they could begin looking towards a healthier and more constructive life.

Yes, friends—God is for everyone. And perhaps His compassion is needed most by those who have somehow been pulled into the darkness of ignorance and lost sight of the light within themselves.

No human being should be permanently defined by the worst chapter of their life. There must always remain a road back.

If your school, rehabilitation centre, correctional institution, NGO, community organisation or other institution would like to conduct a Sahaja Yoga Self-Realization and meditation programme, you are welcome to get in touch with us.

Sahaja Yoga has centres and sub-centres across India and around the world, working to make meditation and Self-Realization accessible to seekers.

Because transformation does not begin with punishment alone—it begins when a human being discovers that there is still something pure, peaceful and worthy within.
